a note from Darlene.......
These amazing animals are my life and I work my hardest to support this rescue. However, without the help of all of you wonderful people, I wouldn't be able to continue to operate. Words cannot begin to describe how blessed we are to have such wonderful friends. Your loyalty inspires me.Thank you for making our 2nd Barn Dance a huge success!!

I'd like to personally thank everyone for their support at the first Barn Dance Fundraiser. The Earth Angels and myself are very grateful and appreciate everything you have done! ~ Darlene Nickerson

NEW RESIDENTS AT THE RESCUE
Arielle is a small Chestnut Arabian that was gifted to me from a dear friend. When I say gifted, I mean she is truly a gift! You see, Arielle is completely blind. However, don't feel sorry for this amazing girl! The first time I met her a couple of years ago, I knew she was special, but since joining us at BFHR, I have realized exactly how special. She is one of the most loving and trusting horses that I have ever known. She has learned every nook and cranny of her stall and can maneuver it like a pro.
In her own paddock, just over the fence from the main herd, she walks, trots, rolls and sunbathes to her heart's content. She easily locates her water bucket and hay pile and eagerly listens for her name to be called and returns the greeting with her own very recognizable whinny. We get out regularly for walks together and when I can, I love to ride her cautiously through the trails. She has proven herself to be extremely intelligent and alert on our rides and I am so blessed to have earned her love and trust! One more thing before you ask, NO she is NOT up for adoption.
Arielle will live out her life here at BFHR!
Welcome to the Black Feather Horse Rescue Website!
We are a 501 (c) non-profit organization that has been in operation
for over four years. To date, we have placed over 30 horses in loving adopted homes. We couldn't do this without the kindness
and support of all the Friends of Black Feather Horse Rescue!
Thank you so much for your continued support.
All of our Equine Earth Angels appreciate everything you do for us!
News from Black Feather Horse Rescue
We currently have several of our horses up for adoption. Do you, or someone you know, love horses and have the time and space to make a difference? If so, we desperately need your help. Adopt one of our wonderful horses that are looking for loving homes. Do you love the smell of a horse and need your fix? Temporarily foster one of our babies while showering a needy horse with love and proper care. Don't have the facility to bring a horse into your life but want to help save horses? Sponsorship is a great option. 100% of all donations go directly to the care and upkeep of our horses and as we are a non profit organization, donations are tax deductible.

Cinnamin desperately needs a home!
She is a small (14.3 hands?) Saddlebred chestnut mare. She is approx. 13 years old and blind in her left eye. However, this does not hold her back. This girl has spunk! She's an easy keeper and gets along well with her herd mates. She loves attention from "people" and with more "one on one" work, she will make someone a wonderful horse!
Not able to adopt? Please consider fostering!
